JMT/WSA Joint Venture Honored for Outstanding Achievement
for BWI Airport Program Management

Sparks, MD - The Maryland Aviation Administration (MAA) has honored the Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson / Wilbur Smith Associates Joint Venture (JMT/WSA) for our Program Management efforts for the Baltimore Washington Thurgood Marshall Airport Expansion Program. The JMT-led team assisted the MAA during an unprecedented $1.3 billion expansion over the past several years, including major infrastructure improvements such as:

  • New 26 gate Terminal A/B for Southwest Airlines
  • Widening of the Departures Level Terminal curbside from 4 lanes to 6 lanes
  • Renovated public parking garage adjacent to the airport terminal
  • New pedestrian bridges between the garage and terminal
  • New 8,400 space parking garage featuring Smart Parking technology
  • Relocated terminal return roadway
  • New employee parking lots
  • New $120 million remote rental car facility
  • Electrical substation and central utility plant upgrades
  • Comprehensive sign and landscape improvements
