JMT is assisting the Charles County Roads Department in implementing an automated system for managing the County's pavement management and maintenance program.  This project involves the application of state-of-the-art technology for automated, remote data collection.  We are developed and are deploying an integrated system known as EnterRoadInfo with Enterprise Information Systems, Inc.  Project Highlights include:

• EnterRoadInfo is a powerful road asset inventory solution for collecting and managing assets along roads. 
• Integrates Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), Distance Measuring Instrument (DMI) and digital imaging technologies to provide modern road asset management solutions.
• Provides tools for PC based image-capturing application communicating with multiple cameras for capturing forward and lateral images while the vehicle is traveling at the normal speeds. 
• Plays back the images and publishes the location data of each images to the receiving computer applications. 
• Provides object-locating functionality to calculate tangents and offsets for roadside objects. 
• Allows the end user to verify, create and edit the database while viewing the map and images.  
• Enters field collected data into a centralized database for assessment using the CarteGraph Systems' PavementView Plus software. 
• Charles County will be using this software to manage the pavement data and for capital projects planning.
• Allows prioritization of future needs based on an ongoing program of pavement conditions assessments and database updates.
• Training of County personnel in the utilization of the field data collection system and the CarteGraph PavementView Plus software.
