JMT is currently working with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) to design improvements for the Washington Dulles International Airport Access Highway as well as for various other airport roads in order to accommodate the growth in traffic volumes associated with the projected passenger growth.  Some of our recent tasks have included:

Aviation Drive:

• Two-lane widening of Aviation and Cargo Drives in order to increase the traffic capacity.
• Two-lane bridge widening, foundation and pier design
• Approach roadway realignment, traffic studies, drainage, signage, lighting, utility relocations, signal design, and maintenance of traffic during construction in accordance with MWAA Design Manual and VDOT specifications.

 North Area Roads, South Section: 

• Provide conceptual and final  design of the roadways, ramps, and bridges to the south of the Dulles Access Highway from Aviation Drive to the Dulles Toll Road. 
• New collector-distributor roads
• Nine bridges and thirteen ramps
• Modifications to NAVAIDS, storm water management, erosion and sediment control and complicated construction phasing
