MCAS New River Parking Apron Design

The U.S. Marine Corps base at Camp LeJeune requires additional airfield apron to support aircraft operations at MCAS New River, specifically the transition from the CH-46 to the modern MV-22 aircraft.  We are designing 342,000 square feet of new concrete apron, which will enhance facilities and improve mission readiness.  Highlights of our design include:

  • 12" concrete apron over a 6" base with airfield marking
  • Electrical utilities including perimeter lighting, grounding system, and ductbank
  • Mechanical utilities such as the relocation of monitoring wells, fuel services, and water distribution
  • Site improvements including design of storm drainage system (requiring an extension of an 8’ x 13’ pipe arch with special structure), stormwater management, and associated permitting
  • Disposal of petroleum-contaminated soils and groundwater
