JMT is supporting the Town of Oakland with the acquisition of right-of-way needed for the replacement of a failed bridge owned by CSX that passes over its railroad tracks.  The end result of our right-of-way services will be to secure appraisals and acquire the needed property to aid in the completion of the bridge replacement project.  Our assignments include:

• Obtain the necessary preliminary title information to acquire the needed rights of way from the seven parcels affected by this project
• Complete title searches and closing services for the parcels
• Secure appraisals of the parcels
• Obtain appraisal reviews from a qualified review appraiser
• Secure an agreement with CSX to include conveyance of the bridge and easement/entry areas as needed
• Conduct negotiations for all parcels to be acquired and present the results of the negotiations to the Mayor and Town council for approval
